A 30-year-old man was found dead in his car near the village of Ajaristskali, Khelvachauri Municipality.
The incident happened late last night. As we learned, the deceased was from the village of Erge, Khelvachauri. Relatives are still having difficulty talking about the incident and do not have an answer to the main question – what was the reason for the murder.
According to locals, the murdered man had a boat that he used to take tourists on a trip down the river and show them the beautiful nature. It turns out that he slept in the car nearby at night, because he often took trips at night. It seems that he stayed there last night and was killed later…
No one is talking about whether there was any conflict or whether this incident was preceded by an argument.
“The water is dammed for the hydroelectric power plant, and the locals have built a promenade in the river here. Beso was engaged in this very business, he had his own boat and would take people on it. Then, he would stay there at night. He was killed last night, and we don’t know why he was killed.”
I just heard about this tragedy and I am very saddened. Beso was a wonderful person, he worked honestly, he was not conflicted, and I don’t know who killed him. I don’t know if there was one culprit or several. They say that they put him in a car, apparently shot him, and then threw him into the Adjaristskali River, but the car didn’t sink, someone saw it in the morning and that’s how they found the body.
Rescuers pulled the car out of the river and found a murdered boy inside.
“How dangerous has life become, how can they treat people like this?” says a local.
So far, law enforcement officials have not commented on the incident. There has been no information about the arrest of the perpetrator. According to the agency, the investigation is underway under two articles of the Criminal Code – Articles 108 and 236, which include premeditated murder and illegal acquisition, storage, and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
According to locals, the car was not completely submerged in the water, so passersby saw it and notified 112. After that, rescuers used special equipment to pull the car out of the water and found a body there.
Investigative actions are underway at the scene.
